Non-Slip Surfaces - a Step Safe GRP Product

Filon manufactures a base for a Non-Slip GRP product for use in areas where serious accidents could arise from people slipping. Such areas include steps, stairs, footways - especially those at any great height, or in areas of high risk of oil or water contamination such that there is a danger of serious accidents arising from slipping. This Non-Slip GRP product is designed to provide a hardwearing grit surface creating positive contact for people to walk on with safety.


The product is manufactured from Filon special reinforced GRP, which is highly robust base standing up to heavy wear and tear with exceptional strength and flexibility. The Filon base surface is specially roughened during manufacture to provide a highly tactile face to which the resin based grit can be applied. Two fire retardant grades are produced, AA Class 1 and AB Class 3 conforming to BS 476 requirements, which can be supplied as flat sheets or step profiles.

The product is ideally suited for use on trains, platforms, oil rigs, plant buildings, emergency exit fire stairs, open see through stairs and walkways where heights can be a problem, or where such facilities are open to the weather or chemical and oil spillages. It is corrosion resistant, and highly resistant to most acids, solvents, alkalines and other extreme substances. The product is very cost effective being quick to install and extremely low maintenance.
