Filon Launches New 'floating' Flat Roofing
System

The Filon Tecnaflex Flat Roofing System combines the known benefits of GRP (Glass Reinforced Polyester) with the latest technology in fixing concepts. This combination gives fast, safe and easy installation with low lifetime costs and good eco-profile.

The Tecnaflex System utilises a unique mobile anchor plate (MAP) fixing which allows the roof covering to be adhered without piercing of the substrate. The fixing also allows the roof to move.

The floating design is ideal for use on virtually any type of roof deck and may be installed in both 'warm' and 'cold;' roof construction. The design also takes out the problems of splitting and cracking associated with other flat roofing systems.

The Tecnaflex System comes with specially designed edge trims which combine UV stable 'gel' coloured face finishes with specially prepared textured inner flanges designed to provide a durable bond to the resin flow coat top surface.

The system also takes into account both thermal and structural movement between the roof deck and the GRP roof covering, whilst allowing easy egress of moisture vapour.

The whole system is supplied by Filon Products and incorporates the stainless steel MAP fixings and austenitic screws along with factory produced sheets and trims.

The Tecnaflex System when installed by fully trained operatives carries a 25 year guarantee.

BRE Certification has been applied for.

The Tecnaflex System is expected to exceed 50 years lifespan.

Filon "Multiskin" Rooflights - an Effective
Solution in Meeting the New Regulations

Contracts have been completed and others are ongoing that include Filon Fermacore triple skin rooflights within the building construction. Both site assembled built up rooflights and factory assembled rooflights have been used.

The feedback from contractors and clients is very positive. The site assembled rooflights are easy and quick to fix, and the triple skin factory assembled rooflights are handled and installed in exactly the same manner as for double skin rooflights.

These Filon rooflights, designed to meet the needs of the new Regulations for the Conservation of Fuel and Power (Part L, England and Wales, and Regulation 22, Part J, Scotland), are now proving themselves to be an effective solution.
