Filon WayMarkers are being used by Herefordshire County Council
to highlight potential roadside hazards in rural areas where ditches, alongside the road to
provide effective drainage, can be too close to the roadway and not clearly marked for passing
motorists to notice the potential danger.
Council Inspectors and Supervisors employed by the Herefordshire County Council carry
with them a supply of Filon WayMarkers in their vehicles to
help spotlight any unsafe conditions, and can replace or install the delineators in a matter of
minutes using only a spade.
It is because of their ease of use Divisional Surveyor Andrew Cully says :
"We find that
Filon WayMarkers are a cost effective answer to providing an immediate
solution. It is often the general public who alert us to the potential hazards such as unmarked ditches,
and with Filon WayMarkers we can be on site and have the area marked out
very quickly, which lets the public see we are reacting speedily to their concerns"
