Introduction
FILON Citadel sheets are designed as a long-lasting alternative to steel sheets in aggressive environments that would result in rotting and rusting metal. Example buildings are: galvanizing plants; aluminium smelting works; fertiliser plants; composting facilities; coastal and marine buildings; chemical works plus many more.
FILON Citadel is used for complete roof and wall cladding in these aggressive and corrosive environments and is available in a wide range of profiles, in translucent and opaque colours and tints.
Resistance to chemicals
FILON Citadel sheets are manufactured to suit the site specific conditions with many strength and protective coating options available. The bespoke nature of FILON Citadel means that the specification is tailored to suit each individual project precisely, ensuring a long-lasting roofing and cladding system.
Strength and durability
The sheets are supplied in both double reinforced (DR) weights OPDR24 (OP designates an opaque sheet) and OPDR30 and also triple reinforced Supasafe which is the recommended product for the roof as it provides strength characteristics comparable to 0.7mm thick profiled steel sheet.
Standard non-reinforced Citadel GRP sheets are available when conditions are suitable for their use.
Fire rated grades
FILON Citadel sheets have been tested in accordance with BS 476 parts 3, 6 and 7 and are offered in three fire retardant grades of SAB class 3, SAA Class 1 and SAA Class 0. For technical advice on which fire grade should be used in specific applications please refer to FILON Technical Services Department.
Vinyl ester resin grades
For extremely aggressive environments, vinyl ester resin grades can be supplied.
