GRP ROOF VALLEY TROUGHS – A COST EFFECTIVE ALTERNATIVE TO TRADITIONAL ROOF GUTTERS
Filon V-Flow Gutter Troughs have been designed as a lightweight, durable and cost-effective alternative to traditional lead roof gutters, providing an efficient channel to direct and collect water run-off while preventing roof leaks. Manufactured from glass-reinforced plastic (GRP), our GRP Roof Valley Troughs boast the unrivalled benefits of this fantastic composite material.
BENEFITS OF GRP VALLEY TROUGHS
Since producing the first GRP valley gutters by continuous pultrusion process in the 1980s, Filon’s V-Flow Valley Troughs are still one of our most popular GRP roofing applications today. These are the reasons why:
- Versatile application
- Durable and lightweight
- Cost-effective and long-lasting
Quality Assured Valley Gutters
Our Roof Valley Troughs are manufactured in accordance with an ISO 9001 accredited quality management system, resulting in consistent profiles and excellent colour matching. Third-party accreditation by the British Board of Agreement, confirmed by a BBA certificate, gives confidence in long-term product performance.
The Range of Valley Troughs
Our extensive range of fibreglass valley troughs is designed for use in residential, industrial and commercial roofing applications and is ideal for roofs with complex shapes or designs, as they can be moulded to fit a range of roof configurations. Filon V-Flow Valley Troughs can be used with clay or concrete tiles, slate roofs, as well as profiled GRP or metal roofs, and options are available for wet and dry fixing (with or without mortar).

Our latest addition is the new Heritage Valley GRP Trough which is part of the Filon GRP V-Flow Valley Trough range. This patented design boasts a one-of-a-kind “S” shape that provides a narrower span between tile support ledges whilst creating a 35% wider drainage channel. Our customers can now enjoy the heritage aesthetic of a stitched valley and excellent long-term durability while significantly reducing the amount of tile-and-a-half or slate-and-a-half required as the narrow span allows for far more small-cut tiles and slates to be used. This significantly reduces the price of the roof coverings whilst the GRP valley gutter is the same price as a dry-fix valley trough!
Our one-of-a-kind patented “S-shape” technology created a narrower span between tile support ledges. It also gives a 35% wider drainage channel for better flow, reduced erosion, and less overflow risk. The heritage aesthetic is something our customers love, and now you can benefit from the look of a stitched valley while also getting the long-term durability and cost-savings of using less materials in a narrower span; and the GRP valley trough is the same price as a dry-fix valley trough.
