FILON FAIRs GRP factory assembled insulating rooflights are manufactured using high-quality Glass Reinforced Polymer (GRP) to provide a simple in-plane rooflight solution in composite panel roofs and walls.

FAIRs are designed to provide high levels of natural light, with double and triple skin rooflights available to provide a range of insulation values. FILON’s translucent GRP sheets allow ensure even light distribution without glare, excessive shadow or hot spots.

Non-fragility roof testing is used in applications where the rooflights may be subject to mechanical damage or where personnel may need to access roof areas, FILON FAIRs can be specified with heavier weight and enhanced reinforcement range weather sheets:

Bespoke insulated rooflights to match your needs – precisely

FILON FAIRs can be configured to provide the ideal solution for rooflighting in any profiled roof when replacing industrial rooflights.

UV protected GRP outer sheets can be manufactured to match all current profiles, and most discontinued ones, and our advanced tooling techniques enable new tooling to produce bespoke products.

The central core can be adapted to provide the level of insulation required. U-values as low as 0.87 W/m²K are available as standard specification.Lower U-Values are possible on request. Lining panels are manufactured from profiled GRP.

Fire properties

FILON FAIRs are manufactured with FILON translucent GRP sheets that are tested to BS 476 Parts 3, 6 & 7, BS EN 13501 Part 5, and BS 2782-0 Annex B Method 508A. The normal fire ratings of the sheets used are:

  • FILON Grade 300 outer: AB to BS 476 Part 3, BROOF(t4) to BS EN 13501
  • FILON Grade 104 inner: Class 1 to BS 476 Part 7, TP(a) to BS 2782-0 Annex B Method 508A
  • FILON Grade 101 inner: Class 0 to BS 476 Part 6, TP(a) to BS 2782-0 Annex B Method 508A

Added extras

Outer skins are supplied complete with FILON Protect, a highly durable, UV resistant polyester film, factory bonded to the weather face. This extends the durable working life of the sheet, and the UV resistance limits sheet yellowing. Under normal conditions, sheet life should be in excess of 30 years. Enhanced surface protection is available on request.
